Summary: In Abitibi, hundreds of kilometres from the city, thousands of men work as brush cutters. They have to go up north to do their job, like Jos Montferrand and Francois Paradis. For five or six months a year, these 21st-century lumberjacks live far from their families in logging camps where Quebecers of French-Canadian descent and Neo-Quebecers from Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia work side by side. Stéphanie Lanthier spends an entire season documenting the adventure of these "exiled" men of all ages and nationalities who make their living in Quebec's boreal forest.
